Reading the word d'jembe your probably like- What the heck is a d'jembe??- well the answer is it's a type of hand drum, sort of shaped like a goblet. Another question your probably asking is- Why is she saying what a d'jembe is??- (by the way the D is silent). Well I'm telling you because I have a kind of (not really) funny story about it.
In school one of the extra things you can sign up for - you know, basketball volleyball etc.- is orchestra, aka. percussion. I wasn't into sports in school this year for some reason- probably because of the fact that too many people join the sports teams, so the teams are always WAY TOO BIG- so I decided to join orph. I had to start in the Jr. orph to start with just so the teacher would see that I could join the Sr. group (the group that would performing everything). we started off with drums- and no we didn't use a d'jembe we used some other hand drum- and I was pretty good at it. Then our teacher decided that I would be in charge of the group when she was late or couldn't make it. Oh Joy being with kids too grades younger then me and wouldn't behave because I wasn't the real teacher. So as soon as I got into Sr. orph I stopped helping with the Jr. (sorry teach.)
A few weeks later this orph convention asked us if we would be willing to play at the convention in Edmonton. Which is a big deal because only three other orph groups (i think it was three) get to go to it. our teacher said yes and we had to come up with a routine that had voices, music and movement. We decided to have a practice after school that would be only for brainstorming ideas. We decided our theme would be rumors, because we wanted something that was happening in the world today to kids our age, we knew that a kind of sadder more sorrowful theme would be stronger and more interesting then a really happy upbeat weird theme. And that really worked. One Person at the convention said that our group really caught the true spirit of orchestra (whatever that means).
OK I'm finally going to get to the point. At church our associate pastor/worship team leader heard that I was in orchestra and asked if I wanted to learn hand drumming for a little bit then see if I was good enough to play in the church service. I was like free hand drumming lessons, and being able to play for the Lord and not have to sing all those songs that go to high for me, sure!
So that's my orchestra, Edmonton and D'jembe experience. I now Get to play for the Lord and have had the privilege to go to Edmonton and play for an orph convention.

First Day of Blogging
Hello everyone who's going to read my blog. I made this blog just for fun and I'm not expecting anyone to find it interesting or anything like that, I was just bored and LOVE writing.
A little bit about myself if that, well...... I'm an aspiring author, I love reading just as much as writing. I have a dog named Banjo, I'm a teenager (kind of) I'm a Christian and I live in a small town in Saskatchewan Canada.
Well I'm pretty new to blogging, actually I have never even thought about making a blog until I came across Wayne Thomas Batson's (my favorite author right now) blog while I was looking up information about him for my school book report on The Door Within: Rise Of The Wyrm Lord- which I finished so fast that I had to read it again so I would actually be able to remember what I had to write for my book report-. I would go on his website like more then once a week (he can keep you returning to his blog just as well as he can keep you hooked on his books, and he can keep you hooked on his books REALLY well.) and that's sort of why I made a blog.
